Inspiration! Bandage Skirt + Blazer = Amazing

This is the perfect outfit.

That skirt.
That blazer!
Those SHOESSS.

I want to copy this like I've never copied anything before. I don't have a red skirt though. And I doubt I could look as chic as she manages to do... Still, it makes me want to drag myself to Goodwill and find a skirt worth trying out this look on!

Chictopia...everyone's doing it

So I joined Chictopia today. You can find my chic blog here. I gotta say, though, I think this will be a good endevour. Look at all these new inspirations?

And there are many bloggers already on there, like Poppy Lee from Thats just my vibe, really.

So overall, I'm excited to see what happens with chictopia. It will either be really fun or I'll lose interest in like 2 days like most things. Ah, oh well. For now, I'm enjoying you can break down your outfits in categories of styles -- I enjoyed looking at the business casual and geek ones. I look forward for there being more and more to go through. :)

Alice In Wonderland

There is something about Alice in Wonderland I just love. I really wanted to dress as her for Halloween last year but when I went to look for costumes they all roughly looked like this sexed-up version:

and I really wasn't into showing off my body for a holiday. I dont know, as far as it seems to me, the girls in Mean Girls are right Halloween is an excuse for girls to dress as slutty as possible without anyone saying anything about it. I don't know why thats the case, because I don't really want to dress slutty any time of the year -- why do it for that day? I want to look attractive, but there are ways to do it without showing off my ass/chest. I think its better to leave to the imagination.

Anyways, I saved a few pics of Alice in Wonderland-type images on my computer, and it all came floating back to my memory when I saw this photo of Lorena Cupcake:

Thats not even a dress, but a vintage shirt and skirt. But, she's a Lolita sweet version of Alice. This picture makes me want to die its so good. Haha.

And I always liked this version, found on google or something:
This look seems very accessible to me...

I just love the little teapot...other than that she isn't very Alice-y...

And of courseee,

Alice herself!

Those Mary Janes....

I've had my eyes out for some mary janes (with heels, though) and found some at Macys! So I snatched them up to go with my bridesmaid dress (just gotta approve them with the bride soon):

Photoshoot pictures

As promised,

I didn't know if my friend who took these, Becky, would mind if I put pictures of her on here and I didn't ask so I figured I'd just use the pictures of me. There is a couple cute ones of both of us. I like having little fun photo-taking outtings. Just walking around and chatting and stuff. Very nice evening. So, hopefully there will be more days like this...

Oh, and Dress: Jovovich-Hawk for Target :)

Where have all the pictures gone?

So, I've been an awful blog mama, but I'm still in classes (damn my college for being on quarters!) so its getting towards the stressful end-of-term stuff....I have been trying to keep up with dressing cute/taking pictures and I finally wore my Jovovich-Hawk dress the other day and my friend and I had a mini photoshoot, but I haven't gotten the pics from her yet, so this shall be a teaser...

Thursday:
Tulips and Toesies

Friday: Lunch with the boy, no pics besides my pretty bracelet...

Sunday: An actual full-body outfit shot!
Dress: Ross
Shoes: Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker, Steve&Barrys
Sunglasses: Also Ross, cuz I buy cheap clothes

Also! Who else loves Aveeno for the sunscreen-friendly moisturizers and stuff? I'm planning on staying pale for awhile, but I may sneak a little sun in. My boyfriend got the worst sun-burn yesterday, so I'm avoiding that!

4) Romantic: Floral blouse and a big flower in your hair..

Stripes!

I used to be a striped-polo wearing teenager. Now, I only own a few striped shirts I still wear...but lately I've seen lots of cute striped looks coming out, and not even the typical stripes either....

Something about this outfit just intrigues me...the vintage sweater mixed with those amazing white jeans?! Could it get better?

What an amazing little pocket on that skirt! And aren't the stripes on the turtle neck fun?

That skirt! The length looks perfect on her (thats the kind of skirt that makes me look 2 feet tall, haha) and her cute hair? And the wifebeater? This looks magazine perfect!

This reinforces the fact I need to find a cute button down skirt....How effortless does this all look?

That shirt. Those shorts. Seemingly un-matching...but they just work....one of the mysteries of life.

Mothers Day

Mothers Day, originally uploaded by andrea ambrosia.

How come the silliest photos are always the ones that show the outfit best? Oh well.

Here's my mothers day outfit. I'm taking my mom out to dinner and then to see Made of Honor. I'll report back later :)

Top/dress thing: Macys
Tank underneath: Target
Belt: Off of a shirt
Jeans: Kohls
Sandals: Kohls (I overwear these, but I love them so, and my mom bought them for me, so wearing them for mothers day makes sense!)

Work Clothes

So, most of the time, my digital camera sits in my purse so it gets carried everywhere with me. This includes my work. I sell cell phones (Verizon Wireless) and sometimes it can get a little slow at my store so often I take a picture of my work outfit. More often than not I don't feel its Wardrobe Remix worthy, so they are just taking up space on my computer... until now. Warning, these are pretty boring, but I'm trying to work on it!

I broke down my typical work outfits into three categories.

First, Sweaters:
Yawn. Thrown on some slacks, pull on a sweater? How boring. In the bottom right I was channeling Santa Claus in my red sweatervest with a black belt. In the first two pics you can see my favorite work Accessory: My Nametag. Hah.

Next, Button up Shirts.
The first one I was in a very purple mood apparently. The second one I was feeling goth? These feel just as boring as the first!

Lastly, my new foray into wearing work-appropriate Skirts:
The picture on the right was one of my first outfit posts on here, but whatever, It was still a work outfit. The one on the left I wore yesterday! Since its been warming up, I've been trying to embrace the high waisted skirt trend and wear them to work. I'm not totally comfortable wearing this style yet, but I think it's a cute look for work.

My dress code is Business professional or something. I'm not sure. Guys have to wear button ups and ties. The women get a more lax policy, but I've just had a hard time figuring out what looks professional so I've fell into those lazy categories more than not. And today I just wore a white button up and brown pants. I just need to find some new looks! I want to feel fashionable at work too!

Help? We can do it together...I'll keep you updated on looks I'm trying out!

Anyways, I'm off to work....I'm compiling a Work-Outfit post of how i dress for work. I've been trying to be more adventurous with my work choices because usually (like today) its button down + slacks + flats. BOOORRRING. So later, I'll post what I wear and some looks i'm interested in!

I'm trying to be a better mama to this blog! Bear with me, I'm still in classes at college (we're on quarters, blasted!) so it will be rough for a bit!

Monokinis!

So, I've been doing a ridiculous amount of Slim And Sculpt 10 minute pilates lately. I am trying to get into Swimsuit season shape. I've recently started to hate my thighs and legs, which I'm also working on. Anyways. I have a couple perfectly fine bikinis. I even got to pull one out the other day because my beau's aunt and uncle had a Hot Tub-warming party. Which was fun, but I'm thinking of all the laying on the beach I want to do this summer (with lots of sunscreen, of course) and now I'm aching for a new suit to go along with my hopefully-slimmer toned bod ;)

So, I'm really enjoying the monokini look. I really want to get out and go try one on, just to see if this trend will flatter me or if it's worth tossing to the side....

Cute monokinis :

Cute black and white, maybe a little risque, but still cute. Plus, doesnt the model look flawless? Apparently this is the kind of suit that creates envy. From Macys

This one is bright, has a fun anchor pattern, and I just think its neat. The price is the only thing that really stops me from snatching it up....From here

A cute little sailr number from Urban Outfitters (I have none close to me, but this baby is an online only!) It's not a monokini, but I like it anyways :)

Another Urban Outfitter one, this is almost the perfect monokini (but I'd rather it in black, but this picture shows it better) except I want ties at the bottom! (Like the first two)

Cute little pink number from Aeropostale. Polka dots and pink, would look good paired with a floppy hat and some big glasses. Trashy romance novel optional. From aero.

Victoria's secret always has tons and tons of swimsuits. This one is such a cute look for the daring swimmers out there. It comes in solid colors too, for those who don't wear zebra ;)
One more VS suit. I think this is one of my favorites of al these. It seems wearable.

Another non-mono-kini. Forgive me....but, God, this is the first Juicy Couture thing I've ever truly coveted. But, how cute is this? You could just throw on some pants/a skirt/shorts/whatever and no one would know you were wearing a swimsuit! Plus the littly bow is detachable. And adorable to boot.

May pt. 2

You know how when you can't find a dress to wear so you pull out your trusty LBD (little black dress)? Well, I don't really have a lbt currently (sure I have black dresses, but nothing that seems to match the versatility and ease a LBT seems to portray), but I do have the perfect teal dress. So I guess this is my LTD. Okay, that looks dumb, lets just forget that :) After seeing this picture, I think I may changes into my brogues when I go, but those are in my car, so I doubt I'll get another pic.

Dress: Ross, maybe TJ Maxx....somewhere I can't remember sadly :(
Tights: Same as earlier in the day
Heels: Ross, maybe brogues to be worn later
Necklace: Girlprops. Immediately after this I threw on a locket too...

May is the perfect time to pull out some shorts

Yesterday, I made some shorts out of old pants I had that were all frayed and gross on the bottom. I turned them into some shorts I think look much better. My best friend and I both did this and then both wore our DIY shorts with black tights to school today. This is like the second time we've had twin-ish outfits...We're so cool.

Also! Right when I was taking this pic, I had just gotten whistled at by a guy in a red truck while crossing the street. Then as I thought I was secluded enough to snap this shot, he drove by to get another look! Bah. So, I guess thats a compliment, albeit a gross one.

Cardi (still windy enough to need it): Aero
Shirt: American Eagle
Belt: Wet Seal
Shorts: made from old jeans
Tights: my tights drawer
Shoes: Kohls
Bag: Store at the mall (its OWLS!!!)

And just for fun, what I was reading while I waited for the bus (It's for my 20th century American literature class)

And good news! This weekend I'm going with my friend Amanda to her wedding dress fitting. I'm one of her bridesmaids so the second I get my dress, I'll share that with you guys! And of course, I'll be on the hunt for new heels to go with it.... ;) But that post will come later....
